The Acer Nitro XV273X is the worlds first 240Hz Monitor with an IPS Panel. It was released in October 2019 together with a 24.5 inch model the Acer Nitro XV253Q X.

Performance:  This is the worlds first monitor to feature the ultrafast AU Optronics 27-inch 240hz 1080p IPS panel with 1ms G2G response times, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 400 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles with a standard 99% sRGB colour gamut.  As such, you can expect amazing performance with wider viewing angles and higher contrast than a TN panel.  Note that Acer advertise the 27-Inch monitor as capable of a 0.1ms minimum GtG response time but it remains to be proven if this can be achieved under regular conditions.

Design & Build Quality: The design is clean and simple with a matte black finish and features narrow bezels at the top and sides. The stand offers both tilt and swivel adjustments. There are 4 x USB ports, audio jack, display port 1.4 and 2 x HDMI ports and 2 x 2W Speakers. There is a joystick on the back for controlling the OSD.

Adaptive Sync Technology: Both FreeSync and G-Sync Compatibility

Other Considerations: You may want to consider the 24.5 Inch version depending how close you sit to your screen.  Many gamers prefer the smaller screen size for 1080p gaming.

Verdict: If you want amazing performance and prefer the wider viewing angles and higher contrast offered by an IPS panel then we highly recommend the Acer Nitro XV273X. You can also compare this with the Alienware AW2720HF that uses the same panel. We believe both of these monitors can be considered one of the best 240hz monitors.
